Social Value, Sustainability & Modern Slavery

Practical, measurable benefit — not performative promises.

We work in public services because outcomes matter — and so does how work gets done. This page sets out our commitments to ethical practice, environmental responsibility, and meaningful social value.

Social value delivered,
measured and reported.

Aligned with the National TOMs framework — Jobs & Skills, Community, Environment and Responsible Business. Updated annually.

How we deliver
real social value.

Our work is rooted in public value. We operate in sectors where decisions affect children, adults, families and communities — and we take that responsibility seriously.

Strengthening safeguarding and protection

Through independent investigations, safeguarding reviews and specialist interventions, we support organisations to improve safety, reduce harm and strengthen the systems that protect people — including trauma-informed engagement during complex processes.

Improving outcomes for children and young people

We support education settings to develop inclusive, trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approaches — improving access, reducing exclusion, strengthening safeguarding and aligning provision to real need.

Reducing inequalities through Health Needs Analyses

Our Health Needs Analyses identify unmet need and inequalities and help shape equitable, accessible services across secure settings, community health, mental health and children's services.

Fair pay and ethical employment

We are a Living Wage supplier. All staff, associates and contracted specialists are paid above the real Living Wage. We are committed to being a Disability Confident organisation, focusing on removing barriers and ensuring recruitment and engagement practices are accessible, respectful and inclusive.

Environmental responsibility

We have achieved net zero and operate with a low-carbon approach through measures including renewable energy, electrification and a digital-first model.

Building capability that lasts

Through programme leadership, operational delivery support and restorative supervision, we strengthen the confidence, skill and resilience of teams — leaving a legacy beyond the life of a commission.

Supporting the voluntary and community sector

Where appropriate, we provide pro-bono or reduced-rate support to VCSE organisations working with vulnerable groups, helping strengthen governance, safeguarding and service delivery.

Environmental responsibility,
built into how we operate.

Environmental responsibility matters in public services — because climate harm becomes health harm, and inequality is often amplified by environmental risk.

CPGB has achieved net zero and continues to operate in ways that minimise environmental impact.

Our approach includes

  • Solar panels and heat pumps
  • LED lighting
  • A digital-first operating model to reduce unnecessary travel and waste
  • An electric vehicle fleet
  • A renewable energy supplier

We continually review our practices so our sustainability commitments evolve in line with national expectations and best practice.

Voluntary Transparency Statement

Modern slavery is a serious crime and a profound abuse of human rights. It has no place in our work, our business, or our supply chains.

CPGB chooses to publish this statement voluntarily. While we do not meet the statutory threshold for a formal Modern Slavery Statement, we set out our position publicly because ethical practice is foundational to who we are — and we believe organisations should be judged by the values they live, not the minimum requirements they meet.

Our commitment

  • Zero tolerance for modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour or exploitation in any form
  • Ethical decision-making embedded into our recruitment, procurement and operational processes
  • We expect the same standards from partners, suppliers and associates we engage

What we do in practice

  • We undertake due diligence when engaging new partners and set clear expectations on ethical conduct
  • We reserve the right to end relationships where ethical standards are not upheld
  • We commit to reviewing this statement annually to keep it aligned with evolving best practice

If you have concerns about modern slavery risks connected to our work or supply chain, we welcome contact. We will respond with care, clarity and seriousness.

Accountability & continuous improvement

Ethical practice also shapes how we work with people. We prioritise psychological safety, trauma-informed approaches and respectful communication in every commission — whether we are supporting families during an investigation, guiding staff through organisational change or working with leaders under pressure.
